Getting back into the hobby soon, good hosts?

I finally got a job, so I'll realy be able to get into the hobby. I'm VERY behind on my hosts, (still back in the early MXDL days), what are some good hosts now? (one's that someone here on the forum make heatsinks for of course). For my next build I'll use one that takes an 18650, but I'd like to know what all there is for both 18650 and 2xcr123a.

Awesome Jayrob! I was actually thinking of some of the UltraFire (or similar) Style hosts.

Is your Pocket Mini able to fit an 18650 into? I've used a few hosts where it requires 3x AAA but 18650 can usually fit in just fine.

Which host do you recomend that you still machine parts for? (preferably one's with a style similar to ultrafire). I noticed the 7 part tutorials, but on the computer I'm currently on I won't be able to look at it.

The Pocket Mini is very small and fits a single CR123.

I don't have any kits specifically for an 18650 yet...

I went the other direction and found hosts that can be made into smaller builds.

I have a DIY Green kit that uses a host which will fit an 18650. This would be easy to make a heatsink for, and build a red or blu-ray laser using the FlexDrive and a single 18650.

However, the hosts that I have on hand, do not have the round circuit board for the bottom of the pill. (battery connection)
Here's the hosts:

Anyway, if you must have an 18650 build, just find a host you like on DX, and it would be easy to make a heatsink for it, as long as the head unscrews from the body...

I'll take a look and see what is there.
Jay

Edit: Here's one that looks like it will work just fine!

ah yes I like that one you've linked. When I do decide to start my build I'll contact you again regarding a heatsink.

I already have a meredith module, now I just wanna buy one of those 1W red diodes and make a burning beast! (which is why I require 18650, I would like to use a flexdrive for high output. I could also replace the LD with one of those high powered IR diodes.)

I'm curious what other members of the forum use for hosts. I know everyone doesn't use MXDL. I think Dark_Horse makes more heatsinks for 18650 hosts?

This makes a nice host and it comes with a heatsink. Also it takes an 18650 battery. Price can't be beat.

Jayrob, I've decided I'm going to use your Pocket Mini build for a 6x. As far as a powerful red burner, I'm not sure yet, I'm considering Kenom's Kryton host.

Lots of good choices out there, but you will not be disappointed!

The only problem, is that everybody is out of FlexDrives until Dr. Lava gets his new stock...

I just sold my last two 'Hot' options today.
