I'm searching the forum to see if any members were at the Gatornationals in FL a couple of weekends ago. I will explain after a while... this is some what important.

Did you see someone do something dumb with a pointer or something?

yes... when i log on later i will lead into the the experiance that i witnessed in a way i hope that no one here was at that event.

OK I have some time finally... I'm at this Jaycee campground with my son (first time for him at the pro drags) I wasn't feeling very well, but for the sake of my son's experience I slogged thru it.

I'm setting up my tent ( in the rain I might add) all is going well. Lots of party type people at this campground 4-wheelers, mud trucks campfires and most all of what you would think in this type of atmosphere. I'm a laserist and of course brought some goodies.

The day turned into night and my camp sight was next to this huge empty lake/mud hole.

I decide it was time for some beamz... there was plenty of campfire smoke in the air
and I was happy to start lighting up some low lying clouds, tree line areas and the like.

After my first beam shot there was a rather large fellow who approached me from the mud pit in an beater bronco, and like I knew him or something gave me a dirty look and drove off.

Later on in the evening I strolled down to where a band was set up for playing a knockoff "Leonard Skynard" type band... well low and behold to my astonishment I see this bright green well pronounced beam coming of from the side hitting most every one in the eye's directly. It was the same fellow from the mud pit. I was very upset it was at this point that he hit my son in the face.

I stomped off rather confused on how dumb people can be.

I was approach later that night while using a 405nm in my campsite by some sheriffs that asked some questions and while gladly replying told them if they wanted their own greenie to just sit around the band area and when they seen that beam shoot into the crowd confiscate that suckers lazer.

P.S. This man had at least a 100mW greenie could be more could be less

You know, something similar to this once happened here where I live.

There was a concert and I brought my 100mW Blu-ray with me. And there was my brother and some of his friends. He wanted me to show them the laser so I pointed to the ground and after that they wanted to see if it can go far so I pointed on a wall.

Then a green pointer of around 50mW was pointed to that wall as well.
I looked around to see where it was coming from but at first I didn't see.
After some time I moved through the crowd and I saw the guy with the green laser and I didn't believe what I saw next.

He gave the laser to some girl who started pointing it at other people's eyes and her own and he wasn't doing anything about it. People can be really irresponsible with lasers.

The laser was definitely around 50mW because I have a 50mW green and I know what it looks like.

what a shame, people like that are killing our hobby, and making us look bad.

Hmm... I really hope no one got any permanent eye damage, although I am very surprised none were reported considering the danger at that level of power :yabbmad:

Dude you're a puss. If someone pointed a laser in my kids face I'd shove it up their arss. Even if I got my arss kicked, I hurt him enough to think twice before he did it again.

Tj there is no need in calling him a puss....i was suppose to go and backed out..lol i personally wouldve took care of that dude and his buddies if they wanted some then take there laser from them... Prob. Wouldve ended bad im sure.. I know i wouldve brought my led shoppe 50 if i went and im sure them idiots would prob. Have shined theres toward me at some point ..... anyways what dumb asses!!!!

Yeah i have a couple stories of dumb people too.

Theres a kid at my school who got a red dilda from budget gadgets, and he brought it to school and was burning peoples clothes that sat in front of him.

At a highschool football game some kid had a green laser and was shining it into the opposing teams crowd. then the next day i heard him talking about how they were shining it at some ladies face "for like five minutes".

people dont seem to realize how dangerous lasers are unless they can burn stuff, and even still some people dont take them seriously

more education at purchase is needed.....drunken idiots dont help any!!!!
