You know, something similar to this once happened here where I live.

There was a concert and I brought my 100mW Blu-ray with me. And there was my brother and some of his friends. He wanted me to show them the laser so I pointed to the ground and after that they wanted to see if it can go far so I pointed on a wall.

Then a green pointer of around 50mW was pointed to that wall as well.
I looked around to see where it was coming from but at first I didn't see.
After some time I moved through the crowd and I saw the guy with the green laser and I didn't believe what I saw next.

He gave the laser to some girl who started pointing it at other people's eyes and her own and he wasn't doing anything about it. People can be really irresponsible with lasers.

The laser was definitely around 50mW because I have a 50mW green and I know what it looks like.
OMG retards...

I always thought that people irresponsible enough (at least here where I live) would never pay some amount of money for a higher power laser, they'd rather drink it up at local pub.

Guess what! I was wrong!

I am sickend while reading though this thread, I remember x-zek's event well , I was also there but I didn't see the guy with green laser.

How come nobody would ever point a burning laser at their own eyes, but they would at someone else's ?!
What kind of logic is that?!

Ive seen some real 'winners' shining lasers into their own faces and eyes:(
As much as I hate this anti laser law in the USA, I must say that ppl are unfortunatly better off, i couldnt imagine what would happen if you could get 50+mW lasers at walmart.:can:

Really?
Then that is "no logic" at all.

I don't think it would be great to find 50mW lasers at local stores selling cheaply.
As long as the law says it is illegal to import lasers, NOT ILLEGAL to import laser parts, I am fine with that.
People who know how to assemble a laser also know how to use it properly.

Yes, you're wright that people that can assemble lasers also know how to use them, but what about the other people who like lasers and would use them properly, but don't know how to build them?

I' m just lucky that I met you, who taught me how to build lasers, but without that I wouldn't know how to build them.

Still I can't disagree with you completely because it's better this way than to have people blinding other people all the time.

For those this forum is for! :D

Thanks a lot on kind words man, appreciate it!

But beware, we still see news about lasers being shined on airborne vehicles, and so called 'accidents' with lasers in public, like the one this thread is all about.
