EDIT: It was apparent blue was going to win. So I went ahead and used blue. I am done with my video, and will do a random drawing from the voters names for someone to have this for free. Drawing the name at 8pm CST.

I'm going to make a video tutorial for the 501B kits with an A140 diode in a copper module.

Another laser is the last thing I need though, So I figured I'd give it away once I was done.
Now, I'm not going to give away a working laser. So it will be taken back apart once the video is completed, and someone will get the kit and the diode/module for free.

But at least you'll have a video tutorial on how to build a laser :D

I plan to do the video tomorrow.
So vote above on which color host you want me to use for the video. Which ever one gets the most votes is the one I'll use for the video, and a winner will be chosen at random to receive it once I am done.

Winner will be chosen tomorrow evening.

Re: Building a laser. Then giving it away.

Kit will be made with a 1.25A benboost mini v5 driver. So it will take a single 18650 battery.

Diode is an A140 diode in a 12mm copper module.

Thanks for the giveaway Moh!
Going with the traditional black. You know what they say. ;)

Great idea Moh, I vote for camo, I don't think I've ever seen a video or a build thread with a camo host.

I two say go with black... That's also very nice of you.. I'm sure that will make someone's day a whole lot better lol

I say color code the host with diode.

Re: Building a laser. Then giving it away.

Love the idea.. great for the biz and the hobby. I like the camo hosts.. i have a few of the green/brown version and blue/grey version..
I just built a blueray 16x in the blue/camo host. The thing puts out about 900mW peak! I love it. I managed to pop a balloon from damn near 50ft away. Im not a burner.. just had to try. Bah off topic sry!
I think more sellers should do more give-aways/contests like this. Its a great biz supporter!

I too vote for blue. Sounds like a 1-1.2w 445nm laser to me. Lol much like the C6 in my signature I posted a build on. Nice contribution Moh!

Re: Building a laser. Then giving it away.

Gotta go with blue :) had a blue 501 build working today but it was too finnicky because I didn't get a clear enough path through the anodizing (ecen though I sanded the threads and such).

Use L.A.'s Totally Awesome Drain Cleaner from the dollar tree on the threads! Cant beat it for $1. Click the link in my signature on the C6 build and it will show you how it strips the anodizing. If you are doing threads only I mix a little with baking soda and make a paste, use it in well ventilated areas only though, with gloves! A little goes a long way. Also flush it with plenty of water when your satisfied with the amount stripped. Hope this helps.

I think blue would be a nice change of pace. I'm so used to having black as a finish so it'd be good for a change. Oh and my compliments for donating a laser for free :)
