Very nice laser, congrats! Can't wait to build my own.

I notice you're using the extended focusing knob from Survival Lasers. I've thought about using it as well. What are you experiences with it, have there been any issues with it getting caught on anything? I'm worried that an accidental drop in which the laser lands on the focusing adjuster could cause damage to the lens barrel and/or diode module. How has it been working for you?

I like using the wider adapter rather than the longer, but it does look nice here.

Thanks Marco Polo ! Build one ! You can do it ! :yh: I haven't had any issues with it getting caught on anything. I haven't dropped it but I would imagine it would damage the adapter, don't think the adjuster would damage the diode, it doesn't actually touch the diode.
It's pretty much what Tmack said, it was just part of the "look" I was going for. Same reason I used the black aluminum heatsink instead of the more efficient copper one, it was the look. I have the extension tube for it so I could use bigger batteries if I wanted too, but I wanted a laser that was compact, decent run time, fairly balanced with decent output.
Besides looks the extended adapter with G2 lens lets me focus it without burning my finger and seems to have a tighter "dot" at close range with a little improvement in mw reading on my lpm
Like all lasers, you have to be really careful with it. This thing would be great for plastic welding and if I ever forget my cigarette lighter.
