Well for the price it is an awesome deal. I like red matches too, but these will be very easy to light from a far distance...very good for impressing friends or even ourselves.. ;)

LOL@things  ;D   then you would be able to light matches with just looking at it with you IR laser beam eyes.

Just took a quick look at the pictures of those boxes,. is it me or do they look really cheap and crappy quality?  never seen any products in that state of decomposition.

maybe they made the tips of the matches with fast burning gunpowder (blackpowder). that way it lits almost instantly with the slightest amount of heat.  although risking the fact that your match could explode as well.   .. anyway my mind is drifting offtopic again,..

i'll stuck to my red-head matches as well.  they do perfectly fine, and are stored in convinient well structured boxes  :p

Wiat a second, Laq - you do not like the Double Happiness matches ? LOL !! Eh - matches are matches as far as I am concerned...I simply cannot believe that they SELL them ! LOL !! Like Rob told me via IRC last night - he damned near had me convinced that they sell cookie dough ! HAHAHAHAHA ! THAT is funny ! Yeah, tells you how gullible I am without sleep :p Also - honestly...can you not buy matches at Wal-Mart for like $2.37 for 500 of them ? Those matches, and a sharpie will suit me jsut fine :)

I agree SenKat... I have a HUGE box of matches that I seem to never be able to finish! I seriously light match books one at a time at times just to see them blow up like that and just to get them finished! ;D

Although I think it's a good thing that they have black matches at reasonable prices as opposed to, say, Wicked? ::) Black matches, lasers, and black tape... I think DX has us all covered. That site is becoming my only online shop-stop for anything at a bargain! :)

I'm sure I'll order some eventually... I just need to get rid of my 3 year-old stock though! ;D

NICE ! Here's one for you, too (no offense I PROMISE)
An Asian guy walks into the bank - he wants to exchange some foreign currency
He gets his money changed over and leaves
The nest day, he decides he needs more American money...
he walks in, changes his money, then exclaims loudly, "Yeslerday I come here and get more money than I did today - you ripping me off ! Why I get less money today for same amount of money I gave yesterday ?"
(bank guy) "Fluctuations"
(Asian guy) "Fluc you Americans, too !"

HAHAHAA

Oaky, that was lame, but sounds pretty funny in person :p Again no offense was intended or inferred !

They are really funny and in no way to offend chinese speaking or natives.  Just a fun thing between Chinese and English that happens alot when translating and pronouncing.  (both ways)

But that would be a GOOD thing! then I could quit making snap and flash powder! lol!!

Seriosuly, though, interesting find, but I'm with senkat on this one, I can get 3x boxes of 500 kitchen matches (Strike anywhere) for $1 if I wait and hunt enough at the dollar stores. That and a sharpie that will last through around 10 boxes, is all I need.

I wonder if they're REAL Phosphorus matches, like the old days? :-? For safety/poison control/liability reasons, most modern matches have just barely enough Phosphorus content to work.

If so, they'd have plenty of other uses besides laser targets. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/757249/make_a_glowing_tomato/ Notice the funky non-North American look of the box of these matches?

I agree the DX matches do look junky, the labels aren't even on straight even in their own promo pictures, OTOH, they've got real wooden boxes, as opposed to cardboard.

I don't know there's any regulations for a fact, (I'd lay money on them being ORM-D though) but if these are high Phosphorus content matches, you've got yet another DX item running the U.S. Customs gauntlet. LOL... ;D
