4-5 weeks, sometimes a few more days, once the order is sent in... It can take as long to get a 7 unit min. laser order put together though... it's faster when the buyers are in faster... -Glenn

I think you just can't beat the good ole 532nm. Nothing compares to the jedi-feeling you can get with it in a smoke-filled concert hall.

thats surprising considering your name :D haha
True, it's probably because of my first blue laser (not counting 405nm violet). I was excited because it would my first blue laser. But after I build it, I was like: well it's a laser and it happens to be blue.
Not that I don't like blue, but I was a bit underimpressed. I have a 473nm which is nice and I have 3 argons (1 multiline, 2 with tuning prism) although I haven't run those yet, too big.

The clean beams of a HeNe are very nice, so that's probably why I picked 543nm and 632nm. And HeNe's are pretty to look at, more impressive than most DPSS and much more impressive than a diode laser. So my favorite wavelength is a bit biased :D

My current favorites would have to be

1. 488nm (even better when it's from a ML argon ;))
2. 473nm
3. 405nm
4. 543.5nm

445 is a cool color but it's just kinda meh to me. Maybe it's because almost every laser hobbyist has at least one if not several. I'm not sure if it'll bump #1 or 2 but I know when my 589 gets here it'll shoot up to the top or near the top. It'll be pretty hard to displace the pure awesomeness that is a ML argon running at full tilt.

I'd say 594.1nm is my favorite. However, I also like 542.5nm its almost like those 556 but a bit greener.

it would kill me not to run those argons :p

543.5nm is the wavelength of green HeNe lasers. HeNe's lasers with an other color than red are rare to very rare. Try finding an orange HeNe.

I don't have experience with a lot of exotic colors or lab type lasers. I have 655s, 532s, a couple 445s, and 405s. Of them all, I carry and use my O-like 405 the most.

I love it because it makes GITD and phosphor coated stuff flouresce. Defocus it and at 400mw, good glow powder will charge in seconds and last for hours. It looks like an alien laser beam and few people have seen the color before. People don't react to it like a green or red beam, which makes them think of guns and movies and whatnot.
