He's not going to listen to us anyway.

I will listen to all of your comments, so I have learned that engraving fabrics won't be possible with a 2 W diode. So we will try to do image etching or engraving stuff.

I thought it was possible if we found the right speed (and pulsing speed for the diode), but that is apparently not the case. That was what I understood from your comments.

Engraving stuff or image etching will be possible?

If you sink the IC of the X-drive driver just like you would have to do with a LM317 but with much less heat generation you can run the driver continuously. I can also offer to put leads between the diode and driver so you can conveniently mount it to your heatsink. It is pretty easy. Also this thread has a lot of good info on engraving with the 445nm diodes although I have not seen anyone trying to do it with fabric.

DTR, can we buy the diode with leads and some protection glasses? Do you have drivers with TTL input, so we can switch the diode on/off for regulating the power like John.

Yea you can get the diode from my site.

This is a good driver with modulation.

Here are some good safety glasses there are cheaper but these are the ones I would trust the most with my eyesight.

Looking for some alternatives closer to Belgium:

There is also a variant with temperature control, is this necessary? I was thinking to place a fan on the diode heatsink continue.
