Have two pairs of safety glasses here that I'm not using - might as well pass them along. :)

I've tested both pairs, as these are the standard Chinese goggles.

One pair has 0% transmission at 445nm; likely OD 6+, but I don't have the equipment to get an exact figure.

The other pair is approximately OD 4.1+; it allows less than 0.0067% transmission at 445nm. That means less than 100µW (0.1mW) will pass through from a direct hit of 1.5W. I would consider these alignment goggles. They are protective, but still allow you to see what you are doing.

Instead of giving them away to the first people that ask, I'll make a list of interested people and use random.org to choose in ~48 hours. Post here or send me a PM if interested; include which pair you are interested, if you have a preference.

You have to have been a member a month and have 20 posts / positive rep to be eligible. You may also enter anonymously; in past giveaways, I've given pairs of safety glasses to Veterans who didn't want it publicly known they lacked safety gear. Let me know if you want to remain anonymous.

A couple dollars for shipping suggested, but not at all required. :)

Hmm. Wish they were for the red spectrum. Could use another pair for that.

Count me in ;)

EDIT: Id like the OD6 if i win....would be used very well. Prob will pass my old pair along to whomever buys my 2.16W 445nm laser just to ensure they have safety glasses

Trevor, I'd be interested in either pair. I actually have an eagle pair, but it always nice to have an extra set for friends and family. :)
