So EHOW is teaching how to "adjust your laser light". Here

How to Adjust a Laser Pointer | eHow.com

I'm concerned. I don't know how many access this site, can someone that has a FACEBOOK ACCOUNT post something "constructive" there? Please.

We do not need "kipkay" second version.

That should be labeled: Ehow to screw up your laser. I did send them a tweet on twitter and told them pot modding was a good way to kill a laser.

Drill a small hole using a portable electric drill above and to the right of the button on the laser pointer.
With instructions like these you'd have to be extremely lucky to even find the pot
on the first hole you drill.
I see lots of people braking their pens before even touching the pot.:)

Maybe I was lucky, But I pot modded my 5mw scopetronics green laser the first year I got it. It still works today and is used daily. (my dog loves to chase it) I turned it up until it shut off, then backed it down just a bit to max the output out. Like I said, it still works fine. I bought this back when a 5mw green was over $400.00

When I did mine, I did it because of an article that I read that stated that if they sell it as <5mw, they actually have to dial it down to that level to meet the specs, and they are capable of more.

Granted, I'm not a laser expert, but it worked for me.

BTW, the new O-like <400mw 532 makes that thing look like a toy.

Oh, and I didn't drill any holes. I pulled the diode and heatsink out of the tube housing, then put it back in.
