I just wanted to let everybody know here and give them a warning about an eBay member named Alphalord024. Real name Derrick Fox from Xenia Washington. I purchased a supposedly 10 W blue pointer from him back in February 16 for $202 I knew before I ever bought or looked got the item in my hands that it wasn't 10 W obviously that's impossible. I like the host however and I figured it would be one of the normal 1 to 1.6 W diodes that you get from China pretty cheap. Long story short it came in it was a piece of junk lasted for a minute I messaged the guy and he had told me he was replacing the laser or refunding my money back on February 20th.

He strung me along for the last 60 days telling me that he was going to take care of it going to take care of it in the was having problems with shipping and so on and so forth. He then quit replying to me at all and not it was very obvious to me that he was just going to screw me and not do anything about it. Contacted eBay they're issuing me a refund but everyone please be wary of this gentleman as he selling way overpriced cheap lasers from China for sometimes quadruple the price he's buying them for.

I have over 30 messages from him proving that he continuously said he was going to make this situation right. Shame on him.

I do a lot of looking around on eBay for good deals. This other seller rph.dta is selling a used wicked laser E2 here is The item number: 301311577450

Please anyone who frequents eBAy as I do and is a good upstanding member please visit this listing and send him a message after you look at his listing for a broken Wicked Laser that sells new for a lot less than he is asking for a busted unit that barealy works.
He states:

-The inside of the laser has been "twisted/turned" the original switch does not line up normally, and as a result the laser is "always on"
- This laser pointer now emits a blue beam instead of the original green one
- Uses 2 x 14500 batteries(not included)
- Some types of 14500 batteries are too short for this.
- No charger
- Functional safety pin
- Original Box

I would like to have this thread as a place for folks to out shady sellers In people out to generally just take advantage of those that don't know or understand anything about lasers and what they should cost.

Shame on him, but at the same time I have to say shame on you for paying 200$ for a "10W blue laser" from ebay...if you knew better, like you said you apparently did, you should have shopped somewhere reliable, like laserBTB, scifilasers, or even the forum B/S/T section. Sorry, but I find it hard to have any sympathy for you..at least you got your money back, and I guess you have a free host now.

Sorry everyone I messed up it's actually Bellingham Washington on Xenia Street. I did open a dispute just yesterday and they are refunding me all of my money. That is beside the point for the last 60 days this gentleman has promised and promised time and time again he was going to make things right or refund my money and he's never followed through.

I am a good-natured honest person that trust people by nature that's why I gave him the chance and I guess I waited longer than I should have thank goodness eBay still helped me with the situation.

Thanks,
Joe

I didn't ask for any sympathy now did I? I was trying to prevent others from dealing with this idiot. The only reason I paid the money was because I figured I could take the one or 1.6 W unit out of that use it in another one that I had and then take that host which it came in that looks just like a wicked laser and build something really cool out of it.

By that reply you seem like the type of person when somebody asks a question because they're unsure you would sooner be sarcastic and belittle them instead of giving them any help. Oh well the world needs your
type of people too.

I have been building my own lasers for approximately five years now and just recently actually joined this forum. What I have done in the past is always use cheap Chinese hosts and put my own lasers in them.

Have a nice day!

Cheers!

E bay can always be hit or miss on quality and getting screwed over.
When I started this hobby not too long ago I order a 1W 445. The only reason was for the host! It was 40$, so how could I lose. Well no where on the entire post did it show shipping charges. I assumed it would be in the 10$ range when I placed the order! Well it turns out the shipping WAS 45$!!!! wtf!!! Since I already clicked on "commit to buy" I was screwed!! I tried to fight it for half the night and gave up. 85$ for a 445 that puts out about 1.2W isn't too bad. I was just pissed at the way the deception came about, for I know it did not cost 45$ to ship to USA in crappy packaging!

Yeah that is awful....I have a link to a guy in China sells a 445 on eBay for about $50 after shipping and everything and when it arrives the driver is set at a very conservative power output (not sure of exact output because I killed the laser doing something dumb before I got my new meter) and I think based on seeing my builds it puts out around 1-1.4W. If you open it up and put a heatsink on the driver, use arctic silver to get better heat sinking and turn the pot almost to max I would put it closer to 2-2.5W. I modified one like that for my brother 3 months ago and it is still running strong...just have to watch how warm it gets.
