Easy refunds from Wicked?

Hi all, I'm a total laser newbie having only used cheapo red pointers before. I wanted to pick up a 5mW greenie for using in meetings and such. As is probably typical, I started at Amazon and ordered a "MiracleBeam Green Laser Pointer" (anybody have any thoughts on this?). Only after that did I start doing a little bit of research and googled 'laser pointers' which of course landed me at Wicked Lasers... "Ohhhh! Pretty website!!! Duhhh I think I'll order one of these..." So I ordered a 5mW Evolution... then I went back to google and searched a little more only to end up here at LPF. Obviously a little reading on here turned me off of Wicked so I went back to their website and did a live chat with a CS rep and said I'd like to cancel the order I just placed... the rep seemed very pleasant and said she would contact finance and make sure it wouldn't ship and I"ll get my paypal money refunded tomorrow. My question is, has anybody experienced this? They sound like a slimey company and I'm worried I won't get my paypal money back. I have a transcript of the chat session and I can always dispute it with paypal I suppose if the refund doesn't show up soon.

On a related note, after reading the forum a little more I went to Opto and ordered one of their 4.99mW green pointers. I liked the looks of the LaserGlow's a little better but they were out of stock on the Lyra-C's which I liked best and their shipping is very expensive. I was hoping to use my new toy in a presentation next week and I'm thinking from Opto I should be getting it by Friday.

You should be able to get a refund if they haven't already shipped your laser. Only problem is that they like to lie and say they shipped it even if they actually haven't.

man, does anyone except me, think that there is one person making numerous accounts, and giving wickedlasers bad reviews on all of them? Not that im saying they are good(based on the reviews here) But they all include the same stuff, and they all magically end up at LPF,

They all end up here because they got banned at LC for not sucking up to the great company that is wickedlasers.

Personally I think that all the positive WL reviews on their site are made up by one person.

yup, think about it. Most stories are going to be very similar coming from a crappy laser company. they will all sound a little like this "i got the laser from them, and it broke" or maybe even "im having huge problems getting a refund for a crappy mode hopping laser i got from them."

if the original post is in fact legit, you will probably get your money back - it just may take some hassling with WL to get them to hand over the cash

Yes I'm legit, just a laser newb. Turns out it was easy to get the refund... Got an e-mail from paypal last night saying my funds were returned. That's exactly how easy e-commerce is supposed to be... a quick 2 minute chat with an on-line rep and the situation is taken care of.

well thats good that you got that problem fixed..now you can spend your money on something worth while. like a nova laser. lol
