Driver upgrade for modulation.

We all know that there are drivers with modulation and without.

But what is a modulation ?

If we assume that this is a quick switch. We can not put it on the power supply, for the reason that the driver needs some time that would begin to work steadily .

We do the same can not put the switch to open circuit when the driver, because many drivers are burned without load.

At its driver with TTL modulation I see the power resistor is probably the load is transferred to it.

Am I right ?

So... you're suggesting switching the current from the diode to a different load? Should work in theory. However, there's wasted power, potentially large external FETs, design specifics for the switching, and the load will need to closely match the characteristics of the diode. There are also switching transients you would need to test for. It's easier to buy/build a TTL driver from scratch.
