not if its still good. again, what driver are you using and what diode is it. what are you trying to complete here bud..??? Alan is the one that'll really be helpful here I am not good at explaining it in a way you'll be able to understand.

here is a link to one of my old questions, in there is the link of my diode and driver.http://laserpointerforums.com/f44/current-driver-adjustment-help-94342.html#post1369635
what im trying to achieve is to be able to make these 2 things compatible for each other. as you have recently read, my driver output is 5.5v when the recommended input for my ld is 4.4 to 4.6 v . yet im using a booster driver which im guessing it will not adjust to the diode if I set it to the correct current. thanks
any other info needed , please ask

The driver should work just fine as long as you can adjust it to between 1A - 1.2A, if the pot is broken you may be out of luck, that driver is capable of 1.5A. That diode is a pull from a used projector, it says approximately 600 hours use, I doubt anyone could know how many hours use it had. I recommend only buying new diodes. That diode is probably an old A130/A140. If you live in California you don't need to buy parts from Bulgaria and China and wait up to a month for delivery.
