so the holes are were the two dots on the last picture is right?

I believe so. Put the laser fully back together, and take off the front golden lens cover, there will be a lens and 2 holes right under that, that is what you need to adjust.

i did that, it worked great, thank you very much, now just last 2 questions, what kind of AAA batteries would u recommend to get the best quality out of the laser, and there is a bunch of green little dots around the main dot now, whats best to clean this with?

You really gotta be careful with the lenses, I would suggest getting yourself some microfiber cloth, and putting a qtip in the cloth, exhale slowly over the lens then smoothly wipe it down, works perfectly nearly every time.

I would suggest you use Energizer advanced lithium, they do cost a bit more, but they will give you longer life at better powers. Duracells don't seem to last too long in lasers, avoid no name batteries.

one more question laze.....does it loose power since i made the dot and beam smaller? cause now its hard to light matchs

Its a trade off. Your divergence is much better now, but because of that you don't have as small of a diameter beam at the head of the laser anymore, at 150mW it should have absolutely no problems lighting red kitchen matches without sharpie near instantly. The beam on GLPs is pretty tight.

Denson, guess you need new batts. Haven´t seen a laser with a better divergence and a smaller beam diameter than this one I sold you :)

It´s able to light colored matches in less than 1sec.

Get quality batteries from ENERGIZER for example. As Dustin said, be always careful when working near the lense. Don´t light matches from less than 15cm, the smoke will make the lense dirty!

I get good results with Sanyo 1000mAh rechargeable NiMH AAAs. I use them in any and all electronic devices (including lasers) that require AAA.

Also, speaking from lots of experience with various CNI lasers and GLPs in particular...
The rattling sound likely comes from the IR filter. It is the blue piece of glass on the aluminum mount below the lens.
Simply applying a dab of epoxy to the threads (I use silicone adhesive or fabric paint since it is not permanent) will keep it from moving around.

CNI adheres the lens in place with some grey epoxy. Scraping it away will allow you to adjust the lens as you may have discovered. Note: do not scrape it from around the actual lens - obviously that is not ideal since it will take the lens off the mount. Once you have adjusted the lens to its optimal position, fix it in place with a dab of epoxy or a non-permanent adhesive. Never use cyanoacrylate near optics.

From my experience, CNI pens normally have pretty good divergence in comparison to generic green lasers and there is only so much you can do to improve it without replacing the optics. My advice is to get it as good as it gets and LEAVE IT. The more you expose the optics to the air, the more dust they will accumulate.

ya, its working awesome now, i had to reglue the ir lens back on some how it came off, i seen the old glue were it was and reglued it, put it back together, now its poppin balloons again and burning into my space bar :), for a while the dot was massive at a distance away but now its back to small, thank you and today im picking up some energizer recharagables, top of the line in that catagory lol
