doe's red laser goggles block green laser light?

i have a pair of laser goggles that came with a red laser i bought. it is supposed to make you be able to see the red dot better.
they have red lense.
what i am asking is.
i have a 50mw green laser diode and i want to order a set of scanner motors. these goggles seem to block out almost all of the green except for a small dot of my green laser.
are these ok to use with the green laser to block out harmful rays?

The answer to this question depends on the quality of the goggles and the wavelength range they were meant for. Chances are you will need a different pair of goggles for the different lasers but if they seem to block green light, you might be lucky and have some that block both wavelengths.

Here we go again:(:undecided:...........................

The glasses dont block two wavelengths, they make red look brighter, and happen to block green at the same time. And it isnt luck, its the way the glasser are designed, most anti-green glasses will block UV up to green including violet, and blue...

@OP, I have seen these reviewed before, but probably a different manufacturer made them, but the reviews I have seen were all good, as long as you are only blocking excess rays you are fine, however I wouldnt trust them for a direct hit.

Multi-Wavelength Goggles.

He did not specify what goggles he had. So I gave the correct answer. No reason to get all fussy about me posting correct information. :)

wow cams back !!!, usually red laser goggles only protect you from the red wavelength.

o ok thanks for the correction, lol i was just looking at comercial glasses and the red ones said " suitable to block out harmful red laser beam" lol.

Ooops, I meant red colored glasses take in the red light, not that red absorbs red, were as red surfaces actually reflect red laser light.

Were the glasses red blocking glasses red in color? The ones I have are a light transparent green,

they looked red/orange. maybe it was just a pic of the wrong glasses. although i learnt something :)

Lol. That means the company gave you the wrong type of goggles (unless of-course they had a wide wavelength range which isn't likely). There's a pretty high chance that if the goggles looked orange, they weren't going to protect you very well from red lasers.

On a positive note, now you don't need to buy green 532nm laser goggles.

if your talking to me i didnt buy them.i saw them in a catalogue. it is probs like most catalogues showing you the the design of the product no the real specs.

Ah, unfortunately, that's defiantly not the greatest marketing strategy. Can become extremely misleading.
