Diode help

Hi,

I have a big problem identifying the positive and negative terminals on a 16x red DVD laser pointer.

Using the diode function on a multimeter doesn't seem to work. I get 0L after putting all 6 possible combinations of red and black on the diode's 3 pins.

I don't have photos now, but I'll get it tommorow when I get to the workshop

What should I do?

you should read the stickies because one of them has the pin out configuration. i'm too lazy to get it for you.

I did read the sticky at http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/meta-topic-pinout-performance-actual-ld-26417.html, however what I'm not sure is whether all DVD diodes follow such a configuration.
