i was wondering if any body designed their own mods (casings), instead of buying generally flashlight looking ones? or if you can use something cool to use, how hard would it be to make heat resistant? any machinist in the house? or cad designers that can send to a company to make a few? possibly use a 3d printer then take that to be molded like jewelery rings are done?

so far this board has been great, i am finalling feeling comfortable posting here instead of just watching.

but i am talking about designing and building your own , or having someone else build it,
do they have to be a machiniest or mold it? i will read the whole thing later but they have similar features

Kenom and Ehgemus make great laser Hosts!! Kenom sends a machinist the blueprint for it and they make it. And I am almost positive Ehgemus machines his own.

Ya, several people make their own custom hosts here. Not sure if anyone makes them to order, but more likely for their own personal use anyways.

Ya it's cool , i saw that post and made me wonder about trying my own eventually. consindering how much the arctic design drew attention. thanks i will check out more

aww,
i had my sword stolen from me in a inside storage unit and other stuff. they never notified me, i found out 2-3 months later when i got back.

There was a guy on here a few weeks back that had made a host out of odd plumbing parts.
I think he was from a very out of the way place and the guy must have mad mod skillz but he did it and it worked

I was eyeballing some titanium rod stock on the last metal order but heh. I doubt the old lathe would be up to that. Plus it wouldn't look much different than aluminum.
