Would anybody be interested in custom painted host???

Like if I bought a couple of someone's kits and have them painted???

If so what color are you guys thinking???

Justin idea I would like to get my rep up around here. I'm pretty sure I could make it happen if there seemed that there was an interest in it. As far as I know I can get any color I want painted on these host. It would be more feasible to have a bunch painted the same color all at once though.......

Give me your thoughts children..........

What the f:undecided:ck am I missing?

What kind of painted hosts? Do you have any pictures, examples of your work?

My point was that calling us children isn't exactly a selling point.. because not everyone will understand his humour..

"In-house drive by" Quoted from a song

"ratm" = Rage Against The Machine... the band who created the song from which my signature is quoted..

That's kinda funny you ask that because I took some time in thought about it.. I was going to...but.....

I kinda like it doesn't touch the sides so it won't fade or scratch 1 day. I should have not mask of that light it is so bright......

I'm building a 445.... and I'm gonna have him paint it a crazy blue color.........

Looks good, including the button. But I could see how the could be potentially problematic.

Just as an xample, how much would it cost me to have a host similar in size painted green like your pic?

Ummm I really cant see it being more then 20$+Shipping or so. The problem is I would want to spray like a couple host all at once. I would like have too do a color a month or something. I guess it would be easiest to just buy a bunch and get them sprayed and sell them like that???????? Idk Just seeing what would work best hints.... (FEELER) LOL :can:

Before selling any I think it would be a good idea to find out exactly how your painter is doing the job. I know I brought this up in your other thread (here ice cream paint job on my host... - Laser Pointer Forums - Discuss Lasers & Laser Pointers) but only because it's important. We should know if he's painting over the existing coating or stripping it first. What exactly are the steps he's taking to prep these (ie. sanding, etching etc.) and it may be helpful to know what brand of clear and base coat he's using (can vary greatly in hardness). I'd hate to see you have to refund people a few months down the road because the paint starts to peel or bubble.

Anyway, I hope it works out. Best of luck:beer:

I had a similar idea of doing this.. seeing as I work in the industry..

By the way.. good chameleon (Flip paint) is very expensive if you want quality stuff.

I would use etch primer for bare metal.. and Spies Hecker 5310 filler primer on top of that..

Then the water based base coat. Permahyd range.. (£100 a litre tin, roughly)

(Any colour under the sun can be made with different variants of the mix)

Then Spies hecker HS* Clear Coat 8600 (£400 a 3 litre tin) to be mixed with Spies Hecker 3310 HS* hardener (£150 a 2 litre tin)

That is a proffesional refinishing product.. one of the most succsesfulll in the world.

The host's are quite small and you would not even need .100 of a litre of each paint product to cover them completely..

So the pricing wouldn't be too dramatic.. I'm just showing you the quality of the products by the price of them.

Then of course they would be polished.

Just how I would do it.
