COME ON LAZY ASSES!!! IT IS A COMPLETELY FREE CONTEST.
\
You can enter anytime NOW till the contest end date.

It seems there is so much doom and gloom around the forums lately. So to promote Unity and Harmony here at LPF I am giving a new long pin LPC-826 Red diode to the winner. I will also pay shipping.

Objective...
Create a new cool laser, laser related thing. just throwing a 445 into a jayrob kit won't cut it. The voting will be done by the forums members at a later time.

ENDING..
All entries must be in this post no later than April 29th.

Eligability...
Any forum member with:
A new design, style, concept...
Old ideas will not be permited (ex, the iron man glove. Sorry while it is probably the best thing i've seen in a while, the idea here is to promote newness) it can be something old but as long as you've never discussed it here you can use it.

You must also make a new thread in the appropriate open forum with pics and descriptions of your progress. Basically a tutorial thread. (hence the unity and harmony)

only a final pic or vid and a link to your project should be in this thread, as far as the contest goes.

all other feed back is also welcomed. if you guys think more time is needed please let me know.

if you do not meet all the above, you will not be eligable to win.

Michael.

i'm going to say this doesn't count because it has been posted before. but after all the submissions are in. i wouldn't mind letting every body vote in/out the questionable candidates.

My contribution to the prize pool.

From the left. 3 box fans for making a spiro, FS mirror, 9MM IR diodes (not sure if they work, never tried) 5 cracked uranium marbles, black balloons, and a lens kit from a 445nm projector.

Thanks!!!! i would rep ya but i must spread some love to others lol...

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

No worries man. I think all projects need to be started after your start date. Previous completed projects should not be counted. Thats just my opinion.

Ok, keep that one disqualified. Just encourages me to get working on a new project ;)

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

FYI.... today is the start date. i am open to changing the end date too.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Give me more time, man! More time! Preferably end it around mid-May? That's when I will finally have money and stuff to work on.

And is this based on appearance, or on power, etc? Like if I totally made a steam-punk laser, would that be acceptable?

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

I think you need to allow a wee bit more time for the people waiting on maybe a heatsink or driver, I think that would encourage more people to try.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

I would think a month would be enough time to gather parts, and construct something.

What do think Chipper?

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

IMHO, if you are waiting on a traditional heatsink for this one, you have already lost.:tinfoil:

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Well You might not have the tools, but the ideas? And Isn't Lava Still out of stock?

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

I say, keep the timeline short, and we'll do another creative contest once this one ends ;)

Plus.... "Lava being out of stock" - I almost echo anselm's comment on heatsinks.

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

Alright cool cool!:) Just saying it for maybe others that might be thinking it. Good luck everyone!!! Can't wait to see the results!!

Re: CONTEST...Win an LPC-826

EDIT: Chip vetoed idea. Perhaps I'll create that contest separately in the future at some point.
