Good on you for seeking advice on this! +rep

Excellent comments,overall.

I think that it will be best to just ask them to have an LPF discount code. Thanks Pman!

I think that is the wise choice given not much experience or track record exists with Mr. Peng/XPL products among members yet. Better not to throw caution to the wind so quickly.

LPF members who want to give XPL products a try can then get their feet wet/gain some experience with XPL, it's products, their quality, problem resolution, customer service, do reviews of LPF and so on. To get an LPF member discount even if small would make doing so that much more attractive.

Example: In your review of the 532nm 500mW unit you purchased from XPL you say it's stable output is TEM02---not many members would tolerate or be happy with that, regardless of price--TEM00 was the stated spec. Price alone is not everything.

You need to impress upon Mr. Peng that whatever he ships to LPF members must be double checked first quality product that meets specs for a purchase, discount or not, to be acceptable.

Once trust in and reputation of Mr. Peng and XPL product quality is firmly established and known, perhaps a GB which involves a lot of work, time, and effort by the GB host might make more sense.

Your enthusiasm and desire for LPF members to get a good deal on lasers from a new vendor, I am sure everyone appreciates. Thank you for the time and effort you have put in to investigate and for bring a new vendor to everyone's attention---will be interesting to see how XPL products do in members hands.

Might be easier to just see what % of discount you would get off everything depending on how much is spent in total rather than individual pieces but that's of course just a possible suggestion to make figuring out pricing a lot easier.

If you decide not to head the whole thing you could just tell them it's too complicated on your end and see if they will authorize a discount code for our forum. That would benefit everyone interested and you would be relieved of all the pressure that goes with a GB.

You must have posted this while I was writing the same idea in mine.

I definitely agree that a discount codes is a better idea in this instance. :)

Good, because Peng agreed to give LPF members a 15% discount.
