Hello guys

I`m new here .
can any of you advice me what kind of laser can i use in my cnc router that i make to cut 2 mm plastic ( PVC ) or 1 mm wood ( veneer).
and some suggestion from where i can buy this kind of laser .

What kind of speeds are you looking at?

Anything in the CO2 range will produce best results, but they are expensive to set up and retrofit considering this is a router setup, so the laser will not be permanent.

I would look for an IR laser in the 808nm range, single mode 5W or more.

Single mode 5W? I thought at those powers they were almost all multi mode.
I haven't slept in awhile, might be thinking all wrong.

Thanks guys but I`m looking to find if an 1W or 1,5 W laser will be able to cut.
I sow in some youtubes some guys cut CD boxes that is plastic.
Give me an advice and where i can buy the components to make this kind of laser .

5W is about max you can get in single mode.... they are not in TO18 package though.
