Hey guys, i have had my first laser about a week and yes its fun but i am looking for something with a bit more power.

I want to be able to burn electrical tape, light matches, even light a cigarette [IF POSSIBLE].

It needs to be under $120 because i cant afford much more, and yes i have looked on this forum but most are too expensive for me.

Could i have some advice on companies to I.E dont want to be waiting a long time for it 2 weeks max.

Any help and advice will be great guys :):na:

I would make your own!!! Seriously. Get a 445 diode , driver, host(jayrob) and batteries.
Those parts come to around $100 and you'll have a very nice 445nm build! I built a 445nm pen and ABSOLUTELY love it!

If you get this HighTechDealZ - 445nm Aixiz Rkcstr Blue 440mA Laser Module it will be more expensive, but all you will have to do is solder it up the switch board and thats about it. The just slide the entire thing together. You have to solder 1 joint, so that isn't too bad.

If you want to do some more soldering, a driver can be bough for $13 and the diode for $50 and that will save you $34.

EDIT:::::

Also I just got this guy delivered this weekend and I quite like it: http://www.o-like.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=5

I haven't done a review on it yet, but for the price it's a nice laser.

Just remember that if you are burning stuff you are likely to be at quite close range and will get any reflections right in the eyes.

Having an avatar without goggles in evidence leaves a rather reckless and amateurish impression.

I recommend searching the forum for treads on laser safety, you will be surprised at how easily you can cause permanent eye damage without noticing right away.

There is a link to good kits and goggles in my sig. :)

You can get an LPC-815 sled for $5-10 (styropyro is hosting a GB for them or you can get them at Hightechdealz for ~$8 with a LPF discount).
The red diode is capable of >250mW no problem.
You can pick up an OdicForce kit for ~$11 here: Focusing Laser Host with Matching High Power Red Laser Diode Driver - Detailed item view - OdicForce Lasers Online Shop

Batteries will only be a few bucks and you'll be good to go.
If you want more power, you can get a hi-power lens from LarryDFW or a Jayrob 650-G-1 that will yield ~25% more power.
Alternatively, you can use the objective lens in the LPC sled, mount it in a plastic Aixiz lens holder and get ~15-20% more power than standard acrylic.

This will surely fit in your budget and be able to do all the fun things you want.

Edit: Were you looking for complete lasers only?

If you're serious about getting a good laser and you also have a limited budget why is your first concern that you don't want to wait any more than two weeks for it to arrive?

You've stated many times how much you want a laser that can burn and cut things, but impatience is not a great quality when you've got a dangerous "toy" like that in your hands. Impatient people are generally careless and being careless with something that can blind or injure yourself and others is not a good combo.

If you hunt around and find the perfect laser within your budget, who cares if it takes 3 week instead of two to get it? Chances are it's going to come from China anyway so you better get used to waiting!
