I am the proud owner of a new M&P Bodyguard 380 with crimson tace integrated laser. My questing is would I be able to easily change the diode to a green 5mw diode or could I even go higher? (I'm new to the laser side of this forum I'm a big flashlight guy)

I'm not sure, but I think it's unlawful to have lasers >5 mW on a gun for a sight. I think the highest you'll need is probably about 5mW of green anyway, it's pretty bright. There are loads of cheap modules on eb@y and sites of the such.

I don't know where 'Gabe' gets his info, but it ain't correct. In answer to your question, the answer is a resounding 'NO'. You'll have to rip the grip to shreds and a green module will not fit. I can't say about a true green diode, but to screw up a $300 - $400 pair of grips, to then add a multi hundreds $$ diode, in the hopes that you can collimate it and then align it, seems out of the realm of sane to me. Why don't you just contact crimson and see what they could do for you in a custom build?

Whoa okay I'm sorry, I know next to nothing about guns and sights :(
I thought it would be as simple was taking apart the assembly and putting a different standard module. My bad...

Multi-hundred $ diode? Are you thinking that he wants to install a 1W laser on his gun? You can get 80mw ones for <$50. Though I agree, installing it would be a huge pain, and it probably wouldn't even work in the end.

I don't think you would be able to use a multi-mode diode for this, aren't they quite fragile?
