He doesn't promote laser safety all that well, this results in people doing stupid things in this, this results in more laser laws, and this makes it hard to acquire lasers.
It's only a matter of time before we get some laser laws in Canada, and it's because of people like kipkay promoting the unsafe use of lasers.

Even a poorly made safety vid w/ KKs smarmy voice would, all in all , be a good thing. He has a huge following and every new utube vid he does will automatically get a million hits but hopefully some will watch and heed. We can always tell him we forgive-get him to make the vid, then say 'WE LIED!'

It's not kipkay that's causing incidents. It's the retards holding the lasers that cause it.
You CANNOT for one second think that all of these idiots thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with shining a laser at an aircraft or at their eye. It only takes common sense to avoid these things but these people lack that simple quality. Whether or not kipkay stressed safety would not change the outcome.
I don't blame gun companies for people being shot and I don't blame bud light for the stupid shit I did last weekend.

I've wasted enough time with that thread. Unfortunately I highly doubt he'll listen. I hope I'm wrong and he'll do the safety video... but at this point I doubt it.

In all honesty, I would have to say that if it weren't
for that maglight mod years back, many would not have found
LPF.. or maybe not as soon..
The day I saw that video was the day I went a bought a
DVD burner and began a long journey..
So yes I can forgive him for the attention he brought to the DIY
aspect, and encouraging people to try with the simplicity of
the maglight hack.
If he had thrown out schematics to a driver, it may have discouraged people
from trying in the first place..
With a forum like LPF, people are then shown the error's of their ways
and take the time to show you how to do it right.
Basing my opinion on the maglight hack alone, id have to say that the
good outweighs the bad..
Its probably the only video of his that ive watched, so I cannot comment
on anything hes done since..

My thoughts exactly
After I saw that video I stole the DVD burner from one of my computers and dusted off my old maglight...
I took apart the drive and extracted a diode no prob, unfortunately I had grabbed the ir diode not the red. I powered that thing up and thought why is this so dim. I remember looking straight into the bare diode, it's a wonder I'm not blind.
I still have that diode, the diode that caused me to search the Internet about how to properly build a laser pointer... The diode that led me here.
So I thank him for showing me a laser could be more than the little toys at the dollar store, and I thank him for doing it improperly.
