Hi everyone!

I haven't been on the forums in a while, so hello to all the new faces.

Last year I believe I bought this laser:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/1-1-3-watt-445nm-laser-packages-only-190-shipped-us-60618.html

But sadly it has been stolen :/.

So I'm looking for a new laser that is similar with a good price. I'd rather not have to put it together myself but either way its fine. I checked the Buy and Sell section but wasn't sure which one to choose.

1. I noticed there are now 2 watt lasers. Mine was only 1 watt. If I get 2 watt, would there be a noticeable difference?
2. In your opinion which would you suggest?

I've already looked around the buy and sell section but haven't read the pages and pages of replies. Also I'd like to know how different 1 watt vs 2 watt would be.

Thanks in advance.

Certainly there is a difference between 1W and 2W, but it's not that drastic.

You will however need better goggles for a 2W laser, depending on what you have right now.

Prices have fallen on lasers quite a bit... check the B/S/T section. Blord has some very nice budget lasers for sale.

Are you referring to this thread? http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/sale-new-1w-2w-c6-blue-lasers-100-a-78331.html

Also, do you think there is a beam visibility difference between 1w and 2w?

HanMan it sounds like you are both describing 445nm lasers, there are also RED 635nm higher powered diodes now! :)

There are some big variations in beam color too. For example my 1.6W Kryton Groove, to me at least, looks brighter than my 2.2 and 2.4W lasers.

Wow! Do those have bright beams?

My main focus is for a bright beam :). I don't need to burn anything.

I have glasses that came with my blue 1watt but I can buy more if needed.

Yah they are a whole lot brighter than the old dvdrw red diodes around 670nm, I am talking about the Mitsubishi ML520G71 300mW and the 500mW ML501P7, these are actually closer to 637nm's (I earlier said 635nm).
Hopefully you have gathered this info yourself since my/your reply, my internet has been more off than off for the recent past and I am going thru old notifications.
