I wouldnt, you want a driver set to ~1.8A......just buy a laser driver or get the one from DTR that has the driver already!

It doesn't say over what range it is adjustable, 1.8 or close to it is probably it's maximum. You have to have a test load and a DMM and know how to use them to set the driver current.

Didn't I read this exact same post in another thread? Don't post 2 threads with the same question or people will get upset with you.

You are better off buying a preset driver, if you need a 16.8mm round one, Survival Laser sells them and Flaminpyro sells them most of the time. Otherwise use a rectangular driver and battery contact board. What host were you planning on using for this?

Also add your location to your profile and more people will answer or recommend where to buy something.

I have a few month old flashlight with a copper heatsink on it, im planning on using thermal paste to make it able to remove heat more effectively. I just ordered those two parts and also a few laser protection glasses. And if i may ask im not really an electrician or even close to anything of those, What tools do i need to use to test out the driver or the laser itself? I dont have them a t home but i can use the physics lab in my school. And least of all i really dont want to burn out my diode. Thanks!

In the future it's always better to ask the questions first and then buy;) Wouldn't normally recommend for people to dive into building without first learning and purchasing either a few premade complete inexpensive units or at least complete modules with hosts that are ready to receive them by just hooking up a couple wires. It's just too easy to mess up something and be out $ or worse get flashed in the eye.

Yeah i know that was a mistake on my end :/
However all of the preassembled ones with drivers cost wayy to much
