Can i Mod this green laser??

So i got this green 5mw laser on Ebay for $19.38 shipped to my door.
it was built nice but it's not that bright! it will pop a balloon at 1ft but it will not light a match..
So what i want to no is if i can get this laser open and maybe put a new laser diode/module with out causing too much trouble. And is it worth it or should i just get a nice laser that will burn? If so what do you think i should get?

Well if it's that overspec that it pops balloons, your defo gonna need some safety goggles, check out survivallasers for the eagle pair, good priced goggles that will keep you from going blind.

Now, back to the topic, green lasers dont use diodes, well they do, but in a complicated setup which is pretty hard to mod, and as it doesnt use a brass module, but instead a pressfit heatsink design (I think) its pretty much impossible to change the module. Best thing to do would be to go over to lazerer.com and pickup one of there greenies, there classic series is the same host as the one you currently have (again, I think) so you would have a nice collection.

That laser is fine, lazerer also provide a LPM chart of the laser you buy so you can know how much power your laser puts out. The laser in the video looks slightly different, but the classic is sorta the same, same size etc.
