Can a person make a larger more powerful laser by placing several 1 watt red 635 diodes side by side on a disc that is a heat sink as well as a mount and use a larger "collimating lens" to collect all the diodes light together to form a single focal point? If this works I realize that the starting point it would be larger but at it's focal point where the beam gets at it's smallest point would it be acually combining 3 diodes at one single point? That would make it 3 times more powerful then right, just not a tiny beam to start with correct? More photons equal more power output in a given space that being a focal point in this case right?

Yes but the diverage would be terrible and that lens would cost thousands.

well not only would it be A focused laser at a tiny spot, you'd have THREE lasers focused. You could get quite alot of power. I don't know how easy it would be to get that spot just right, though.
