While I think giving Avery a b-day present is a great idea, I agree with Jerry: Raffle money should be donated to the forum..

Yeah I voted no. Just give Avery the money. He may need it more than a birthday gift. Plus his birthday is in January. So maybe in a few weeks we can get a new raffle, or even just donate to a birthday fund.

:thinking: I thought we already discussed this on the raffle thread. I'm sure Avery is going to see this, so the surprise aspect just went out the window LOL.

and money can be a b-day gift :p i think he should get the extra regardless of the form in which the gift comes in... it's why this poll isn't biased, it just doesn't mean anything :) it's just a good place for this discussion so as not to clog the raffle thread

There is no such thing as "extra" money from the raffle. ALL of the "profit" is earmarked to be use to help defray c0ld's costs to run the forum.

Let him eat cake like I had to :whistle:

Glenn started the whole thing to get the forum involved in something fun, and generated money to help support the forum. This whole idea of changing his idea at the last minute on what he should do with the money other than forum support is hijacking Glenn's idea. And thats not cool.

I say just give him the money, and if he wants to use that money on buying himself a gift, then so be it.

..i am sure there will be great response in a "avery b-day fund". so, how about:
a veteran creates a threas, and PMs avery to please not look in there. i am sure he would resist it, if warned. whoever likes, would donate in that thread. this way its not just money, but a real present (if we can decide on one), its totally independent from forum-support-raffle-money, and will be a surprise..

but still, thank you for starting this, monco!
