recently i saw a video(on this forum i think) somebody made in their house where the owner of a Siklaser (120mw red maybe?) was lighting a match. it looked to me like he reflected his red beam off one full length mirror to another then lit the match. the mirrors were not optics or anything special, and he stated the "measured distance" was 120 feet. my question is- for burning is red superior to green? i know it's less $ for red. it was a pretty impressive flic .

He probrably had "no" IR filter .... IR burns....... but also your eyeball if you get it in it.. its invisible.. so thats the danger with IR.. Green you can see and you will guard against it instead of just gazing at it for endless seconds.

YOU can get some burners, but its quite tricky keeping your eyes protected when you can't see it.
But if its traveling with a color, that helps alot.

I would not own a pure IR.. it needs to have some color for me... I hate not being able to see the beam etc.....

with green, I have to take my glasses off or look over or under them to see the beam traveling through the air, but then put them back on to view the impact point.
