Bought red 100mw Laser off Lazerer. Look in mail, I see 200mW green laser

Well, I'm pretty happy. So I was expecting a 100mW red laser and when I opened the packaging I see a box that says Green laser pointer, so I open it up and look at the laser and read the label. Instead of 100mW, It says 200mW, I'm pretty happy that I got a 200mW laser instead, although I did order a red but the box says its green so I'm confused which one it is. I get my battery today so I'll test it out tomorrow.

Just because the label says it's 200mW dosen't mean it's 200mW.

If anything it most likely is under 100mW, only way to find out is to use your good friend the LPM :beer:

Actually lazerer was pretty good at being on spec. I bought 2x 100mW 532nm from them and they came in at 108mW and 123mW.........8% and 23% over spec ;)

Also max uses boxes that say "Green Laser Pointer". I'm pretty sure your laser is what you ordered.
Even my 1W blue from lazerer came in a box like that.

Ah well, thanks for clarifying that :p

but it says 200mW, is it 200mW or does he always put that sticker up for all 100 mW?

Just as Greenlander and Livinloud said, it's probably 100mW or a little overspec. I'm guessing the sticker was just a mistake.

Guessing does no good. The only way to know the power is on an LPM. The difference between 200mW and 100mW of green isn't much though, in terms of brightness, and both are pretty dangerous :p

Why would you trust the little piece of paper stuck to your laser. I you picked up a piece of paper that said, "you now have one MILLION dollars in you bank account" would you believe it?

If you buy a 5mw ebay pen and it comes labeled 5000mw, are you going to believe it? Doubtful...

FYI the back of those foil power stickers says "power output tested on el chupacabra's LPM to within 0.005mW of actual spec" dont believe me? Pull it off for yourself and see

As long as were wishing, I think its gonna be a 500mW Yellow 589nm! :shhh:
