best red amd green laser setup

So im going to be building a couple red am
green lasers, but not sure of best setup.

Ill be picking up the diodes from dtr.
I think the green is a pl520 w/3 element lens.
And the mits 500nm red diode.

Ill be using the x-drives from laserz [I think thats his s/n].

What is the best setting for the drivers with these that will provide sufficient power but wont kill the diode quick?

Why not get the driver pre wired to the diodes from dtr?? He has either optimal current or you can choose the current on some of them

What do you mean? There all going in separate host if that's what your asking.

Because the drivers need to go into pills, not directly connected to the diode. Because there cheaper using another source of drivers(X-drivers). Will save me $15 a pop.

If you do some very easy googling, you can find the datasheets for the diode, telling you what current to run them at. I.E., search "Osram pl520 datasheet".

I would use the microboost for the PL520 and the X-drvie for the mitsubishi. That way you can use a single Li-ion or a 3.5-5V power source for both units. If you want to use a X-drive for the PL520 you will need 3XLi-ions or a 9V power source for that one. IL sells microboosts if you don't want to pay to have the range resistors soldered, current set and prewired to the diode which I can offer to put leads between the driver and diode if you want to mount the driver remotely.:beer:

Yes, I can attest to the awesomeness of the MicroBoost. It's perfect for lower power builds where you
only want to use one cell. It is so tiny that it can fit inside an AixiZ module as well. The only downside is
soldering on it is difficult because it IS so small - something best left to a professional. I have not tried the
X-drive yet since it appears to be only for the 1-3W range.
