Best for my money

Hey guys, first time poster here.

I am looking to buy a new green laser pointer. I don't know much about power or anything, I really just want a laser that would be able to burn paper and light a match. Obviously this would be cheaper if I spent a few extra bucks on an optics set? Anyway, I was wondering where I can find such a laser. My spending range is probably between 75 and 150 USD, so pretty large. Again, just want it to be green and be able to burn stuff with an optics set.

I've read bad things about wickedlasers, so if you guys could also suggest a company that'd be great. A link to a specific laser would be extremely appreciated.

I'm just knew to this and I don't want to get ripped off.

your gonna have a tough time finding a new one that can do that for that price for one that can do that you will need to spend roughly $220 for a good laser that can light matches and burn paper.


Also what kind of laser do you want? do you want a pen sixed one, a flashlight sized one or a lab type laser?


I can get you a lab type one that can do that for about $200 or a pen sized one for about 220

For your price range, probably just building a bluray or a high powered red is the only thing for the price/power your looking for.

Get a nova x100 for $200. It's one of the cheaper pointers that can burn.
Or just buy a 100+mw blu-ray or red pointer for around $150. There are lots of them in the BST section. They won't be nearly as visible as a green pointer though.

To clear things up, yes I'd like a pen sized laser pointer.

However, is it possible to get like the x50 to burn with an optics set? Or will an optics set only make an x100 burn?

Also, theres a 209.00 and 230.00 USD one...Does the 230 just come with a carrying case and membership? Or are they different powers.

The x50 can probably light a match if you focus it well. If you want a sure thing then get the x75. It should easily burn stuff if you focus it with a magnifying glass.

again, just to reinforce everyone else, getting a violet or red pointer is more efficent and more inexpensive than trying to get a green burner.
