I'm sorry this is a completely noob post, I'm new to lasers...:thanks:

I'm from Toronto, Canada, looking to purchase a green laser for under $100.

I want the most powerful laser I can get for under $100 (I'm assuming green laser would be the best and brightest color right?). I want the laser to be very visible at night and for it to have a strong beam and reach a couple km away... Also I would want it to be able to burn things.

What do you guys suggest I purchase, and from where??
I hear terrible things about WickedLasers.

Thanks! :thanks:

Hi Victor7

Welcome to the forum, do poke around and see all the great stuff in the world of lasers.
You are correct that green is the most visible to the average humans eye. It is a bit tough to find a good quality green burning laser for under $100 but you might luck out and snag a over spec model. Be sure to use the white search bar at the bottom of the page as there is a wealth of information to see here. Remember to get proper safety laser goggles for the wavelength of your laser if it is over 5mW. Enjoy, have fun and most importantly be safe.

:/... what he means with his "soo(x50)"is that yes there are a lot of posts similar, probably even several of the same title. I would actually try google though as the lpf search never has quite worked for me.

Edit: google as in "100$ green laser site:laserpointerforums.com" im not trying to be that asshole that puts a lmgtfy link.

Buy a leadlight host for a couple bucks and get the Osram plp520 100mw laser diode with module and Xdrive and pop that in, you might need some soldering though. That might be just a little over 100$ but will impress anyone who's sees it. Also it might even do 150mw? Who knows, ask DTR and he'll try to set the driver to make 150mw
