looking for a good to great green (duty cycle acceptance of 1 min on to 1 min off acceptable) prefer ability to light a match.

if anyone knows of better for less ... great!

But if you want a reliable one and take no chances you're gonna have to spend about 300 bucks. :-X

Thanks for the info, looks like I will await a deal on a green diode and make a reliable one myself.

Unfortunately there are no such things as green diodes or at least it not cost effective to make them at this time. Green lasers use an infra-red pump diode at 808nm which goes through a a series of crystals to convert it to 1064nm and then to 532nm. It is very difficult to make one because of how crucial it is to get the crystals set right just right. If you want something that can light matches i suggest that you look in the DIY section. There you can find out how to make a super cheap, burning red laser.

Still learning the lingo and such, guess I am speaking of modules (as far as green goes it seems) and as I see, a decent green module is not much cheaper then a fully assembled product.

Lighting matches is not really the goal, but I thought might help me find one thats as bright as I was looking for.
