This makes no sense? How can a lens improve burning? Is the burning lens just a cooler name for focusable lens?

it may be coated for less loss and to pass more IR. Also, some lenses limit the output and chop off the rectangular shape of the beam to make the spot on the wall look prettier. A higher output lens does not do that, and allows all the light to shine through.

nope. because without the lens, it might be a big 12-inch spot on the wall, and with a collimating lens to focus it, the same output could be squeezed into a 1mm dot!

I thought Arctic is not focusable. It's focused to 'infinity' by default. This lens is additional convex lens which will focus it to some closer distance.
Of course it has NOTHING to do with IR.

I believe so ..
No, it is just a lens that is focused to around 2' as opposed to infinity from what i can tell in videos. AFAIK none of the arctics lenses are meant to be adjustable but you could probably change the focus to closer by partially unscrewing it.

yes, you can change the focus on a arctic, you have to unscrew the 2 top pieces of the host until you see the lens. now you can adjust the focus on it to be up close or far away by screwing the lens in or out.
IIRC some are glued to infinity, you will have to break the glue off first.

I have the lens kit for mine and all it does is focus the spot about 2-3 inches from the front of the laser. With the lens on if you shine it at a wall it looks like an unfocused laser.
