There was a transportation fair at work today, and they were using a laser to engrave metal luggage tags at one of the booths.
Apologies for the image quality as it's hard to take good pictures with a mobile device. Click for larger versions.
This appears to be an RMI laser engraver. The machine had a few safety warnings but no standard laser label indicating the power or wavelength. I asked one of the guys at the booth about the laser's power, but he had no idea.
Anyone ever seen one of these before? In any case, this was my first time seeing a high-powered laser capable of engraving metal in person, so it was nonetheless a cool experience!
