Aluminum Carrying Case for handheld lasers

Today I am starting my hunt for a good aluminum case to be able to fit a full set of handheld laser gear: batteries, glasses, and the actual pointer.

This is the first one that I have seen and kind of like, but I think I can get it for less than $20 because lazerer doesn't give free shipping for just the case. The lock is a good feature that I would like to have, but I have regular pad locks that would of course work on cases that don't have built in locks.

Aluminum Carrying Case for Laser Pointer 23cm*16cm*7cm

If anyone has some suggestions for me, please share them, as I think I can probably pick up the same thing for about $10-$14. Thank you.

yes-share them-- cases made for quality poker chips can be nice- but cant find them w/o the chips.:(

I dont want crap but also can afford the fancy high cost ones- :shhh:

I did make one somewhat acceptable for some of my Jetlasers --from a wooden hinged silverware case.

holds six PLs..

hot glue+high density foam cut to fit and red cloth - 2 Hrs labor. case was 3$ without flatware at thrift shop. added handle and brass plated closers.. 4$-

When I open it for someone I feel like I am 'Handy Andy'- from Taxi Driver-- the gun salesman..

lo

I used an old cigar box and added some black packing foam i got from computer server packages. Cut out spots for my lasers and batteries. Just waiting for my GID tail caps to place over the lenses. As of now im just using some small pink computer chip baggies over the lens.

You can buy empty cigar boxes for pretty cheap and cigar stores. They should have plenty of empty ones sitting in the bottom of their humidor room.

I have eleven more boxes waiting to be modded- collected them in the last year from thrift shops. Some will be used for handhelds I plan to sell w/ the cases.
I like the older beat-ups ones up over the new wood boxes..

I found some old brass handles I will use on four of these.

TY --up close its not that professional-- next one will be better.
I saw a plastic silverware holder that I may be able to mod and fit it nicely inside some of these- once padded and covered no one will know whats underneath--lol:crackup:

You can find the cases in DIY shops or in Wall-Mart. I bought a few and made a laser case from it. http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/laser-case-beamshots-misty-weather-72083.html

Thanks for all of the responses guys. How thick of foam should I be looking for? Is 1" enough or should I go for 1.5"-2"? I am probably going to pick up a nice looking poker case.
