Wow you guys are like a broken record. Why? Why not? I pointed out a mistake in a listing, and my thoughts about a $140 20mW diode. So what? I never said Chuck was a loser.

You did not say it but common sense is pointing at the implication of that, considering the tone your OP was written in.

Well, pointless discussion anyway (knack for obvious working here) right?
So let's just have a  and let the ignorant fool raise the "times sold" count to 9.

The largest laser forum on internet is right here. If one cannot find it, then he deserves to pay $145 for 20 mW diode.
What else can I say? Sure you can have an 8x BR burner for that.
But sure as hell, 8 people bought that.

PHRs and LPCs are new too.

They're not technically new, the leads are cut. You'll still have to fuss over the removal process and deal with the "solder blob" technique to get the bare diode. And not everyone is comfortable doing that and if it was done incorrectly you could easily destroy the diode.

I would destroy 14 phr's with a solder blob instead of buying that.
I'm with TJ, that price is almost like raping someone.
I had buddies that sold motorcycles at a kawasaki dealership. When I would see them at the bar they would always say " I'm going to Hell" for charging people crazy prices. This looks about the same

As I said before, it's as simple as going elsewhere. I'm not planning on buying that diode from Aixiz because I can get them cheaper elsewhere, but I know from personal experience that Aixiz is a very good company who will bend over backwards for their customers. I don't fault them for making a profit, that's what capitalism is all about. I also respect them very much for having a great understandig of what good customer service is.

I bought a bunch of 50mW green lab modules that produce over 100mW each from Aixiz (among many other things) and they cost $65 each.. tell me that's a rip off. Why would he rip people off on one thing and not on others? If Chuck is selling these brand new diodes for ~$140 it's because they are brand new direct from the manufacturer which means they cost him just a tad more than a $10 PHR to get them in the first place. PHRs and most other sled diodes that aren't pulled from working drives are pulled from QC reject sleds, and they are used since each sled is tested and burned in prior to installation in the drive. Sure they're cheaper (which is awesome) but there's always a premium to be payed for brand new stuff and many people would have no problem with that.

Look at the dates... throughout 2008 and up to February 2009. No buyers since then

Aixiz was the first seller to provide us with inexpensive laser housings and lenses, back in a group buy I did before LPF even existed. They had a lot to do with getting this whole thing started. I'm not sure if you have a bone to pick with them and that's why you bring this up now. Personally I find the listing ironic. They are obviously going after a specific audience.. ;)

I really love how when you slap kipkays name on it BOOM + 50 dollars and they are probably using the same ones from a PS3 sled if it spits out 30mw.

Also the fact that a PHR is like 10 bucks lol and is much more better. Just gotta get a housing for like 5 dollars.

I have no bone, I dont see why you guys are so defensive. I didnt say anything personal or out of line, except maybe the title. Even that is weak. I never said anything about his service. I never commented on Chuck directly, just his listing. Which was flawed, so I dont see why people are freaking out.

I think the PHR is past the QC rejects stage. They made so many, and the technology changed so fast, that they have a pile of new old stock. You cant beat $7 for 100mW diode. That's 20 diodes to one of theirs. So IMO I think they are stoned for asking that price. Sure its a buyers market, and I'm giving an opinion of a buyer, me. I'm not out of line.

You're absolutely right about the PHRs.. they're awesome. I only defend the company, not so much the listing.. as drlava said they're going for a niche (not that it exists judging by the sales)..

that's our advantaqge though TJ.. cheaper lasers. If your a part of this community you get the perks that come with the knowledge..

But not everyone's a member of this community. There are lots of people out there who like lasers and have seen and read tutorials on building modules and pointers but aren't a part of the community as a whole.

FYI Aixiz just came out with anew driver for less than 6$ shipped to USA AND it has TTL too with adjustment ---only 10X20 mm plus super quick delivery from Texas. see here---

Constant current laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL - eBay (item 380233367046 end time May-20-10 12:58:07 PDT)

Constant current power driver

Works with AixiZ and other standard laser diodes.
Driver Size :10*20mm
TTL modulation 0-5VDC <5kHz
0V off @ >2.5V laser on

Current :80-500mA

Those Drivers that "Aixiz just came out with" are Blu-Ray drivers
that O-like sells (and are even cheaper) have been reportedly not
very good..
I don't believe anyone has gotten the TTL to work...

2pcs Constant current laser diode driver 80-500mA w/TTL [OLDD20] - $5.00 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

@ T_J....
I've never had a problem when buying from Chuck either...
And as EF stated... I'm also convinced he paid a lot more than $10.00
for those prime unmounted LDs and his markup is no doubt fair...

If one compares the manufactures MSRP... those LDs are a bargain..
(if you don't have an inside track like us)...;)

:wtf:Kendal is not being discussed on this thread....
You will need to read ALL the posts in this thread so you
will have a clue as to what is going on before posting...:undecided:
