Ok I want to make a LOC burning laser.

So I want to know which one is better for the burning and beam.

Where can I buy the glass one and where can I buy the glass one.

DO NOT link to Laser$urplusparts cause there shipping is 50 bucks!!

Same with bluray witch is better arylic or glass aixiz and witch is better for beam and burning

why not just order them from aixiz instead of spammer.com? yes i typed it as spammer.com for a reason... you can call them and find out how much shipping would be. if i had any id sell them to you for cheap shipping and cost but i dont...

p.s. its pronounced "ache-says" according to their recorded message when you call them

Glass AixiZ is better for red lasers

Acrylic AixiZ is better for violet lasers

A LOC diode will eventually melt the back out of an acrylic lens.. unless you remove the back first, but doing that will ruin your beam quality. Glass is the only truly viable option for LOC diodes.

You can get the glass one here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Glass-lens-for-...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

and you can get the glass one here
http://cgi.ebay.com/Glass-lens-for-...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

I've never seen the acrylic one listed separately from the Modules
http://cgi.ebay.com/12-X-30mm-laser...14&_trkparms=72:1205|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318

There is this lens: http://cgi.ebay.com/Plastic-Collima..._Components_Supplies_ET?hash=item350155856567

It already has a larger opening in the back, which should keep the diode from melting it, and according to a thread here on LPF it is AR coated for red wavelengths, which will allow better power transmission..

This one is good for red lasers.

dave

**EDIT** You can get the acrylic AixiZ directly from their website

I have that lens too. You can also buy just the acrylic lenses directly from Aixiz's website for $0.50 each, if that's what you're looking for.

Edit: Dang Daguin, you're too fast ;)

Like Dave said, acrylic for bluray and glass for red. The aixiz glass lens is coated for red. This coating does not pass 405nm very efficiently ay all. The acrylic lens is uncoated, so it is the choice for bluray. If you scratch or damage an acrylic lens accidentally, I have found that the red keychain pointers at my local dollar store have the same lens in them. Not a bad deal, one dollar for a new lens. Worth looking into if you need a few acrylic lenses cheaply. IgorT will have the best lens for bluray, check the GB thread.
