Hi there! This is probably a pretty easy question considering the intense discussions I have perused.

I need a durable laser pointer to be used in steel mills when explaining details of a job that are not within reach and are often not well lit, clean areas.

I understand green lights are often the way to go, however, the user is color blind and can see red the best.

I want it to be a high quality item, however, I need to keep in mind that tools like this are often damaged/stolen on the job site and will probably need replaced within the year.

Any and all insight is appreciated. Thank you for your time and help!

I would recommend LG's 5mW Libra unit:
Laserglow Technologies

The quality will be superb and unlike other typical red pointers which use a 650/660nm diode(which LG mentions), the Libra uses a 635nm diode which even thought still only being 5mW will be more visible due to this wavelength being closer to the human's eye peak wavelength.

I actually own a Libra myself and couldn't ask for anything better. Had it now for a couple of months and have yet to run into any problems :)
