This is why I love the Kenometer Pro. You can just set a minimum power it has to reach before it begins graphing. Combined with the quick response time, this makes the interval between the graphing limit and the first local maximum of the graph an almost negligible difference to the average.

You can do the same thing by waiting 40 seconds after you shine
your Laser on the Thermopile Sensor of a budget LaserBee 2.5W
USB LPM and then clicking on the [Run] button.

Are you comparing a $400.00 LPM to a $129.99 LPM....

ok i dont own a LPM btw

but this a question more towards jerry say i run a 1 minute test right? part of that is the warming up. so how much could that affect the average displayed?

The longer you would do the test the less the warm up time would
affect the total average reading...

OR

If the average full power reading is important to you the you can use
the procedure I outlined above...

It could get upto 60mw less than the initial lecture. I did a test with my 1W 445nm and went from 1100mw to 1050mw in 1 minute.

I really love this ophir head. I just wished it had data logging
