He said that no Blu-ray is 405nm? I'm now more skeptical of this listing...

Ha, I see where you're coming from. I think he missed a comma and meant to say, "No, bluray is 405nm."

As I didn't mention the wavelength in my message I think this is meant to show he knows the difference and is aware of the specific wavelength he has put in the specs but it could sound vague.

Interesting... Yet this could be scam, blue laser diodes normally sell for $1000 and +.

I'm suspicious, but somebody should try it...

That's intriguing!

Either it's a total BS hack, or it may be that this guy really has a stock of what would be ultra rare and ultra expensive diodes... If I had more expendable income, i'd risk putting a bid just to find out if it's the real thing. But I'm poor as crap these days. Mhhh.

What sucks is we could be staring at some really nice diodes and not even know it, either that or some simple scam :undecided:

Just to be cautious, if anyone's thinking of bidding on these it should be made known so we are not bidding against ourselves.

He did say that normally they're $1000 a piece and that he had 20, maybe he bought in bulk and is being nice :D or he's a smart scammer.

Even if it was 20+ they would still be a whole, whole, whole lot more expensive than 50 bucks. I would think around 700-900 bucks. He would have to have a couple hundred thousand to get the price down that cheap. Even if he did have more why has he not listed them?

I guess he might see this as a "testing the waters" auction, but it looks really fishy to me.

I might bid on this towards the end of the auction depending on my available funds.

Perhaps listing the number he has available will lead his competition to his wholesalers. He may be low profile about things due to local restrictions.

This was the laser i was gona get the other day but it will rise way up. The seller said they retail new for over 1000 dollars. He wanted to see how much that would go for on ebay, Makes me wonder if he plans any buy-it-nows at w/e the winning big goes to. So price of this is going to go way beyond me.

This diode looks like a pull from something. The two long legs in the photo appear to have solder residue on them. How can this be a new diode if it was unsoldered from some device?

Unless it was harvested before the device was used (which I doubt), it simply isn't new - yet another reason I'm skeptical.

Lol this guy bids with two other accounts or with two of his friends and hopes that someone is stupid enough also to bid on this cheap 405nm.

Seriously, no one would make an high offer (more than $50) if he looks that
- this guy hasn´t sold anything
- the bid is higher than $355 and more than 4 days left
- there are only two bidders (friends)
- no one would quote a >$800 laser diode with a $50 start bid

Someone who bought and sells a real blue diode must have much more knowledge than this guy showed in his replies.

Think about it and leave this idiot alone :tsk:

I'm sure this is just a 8x, a GGW, or something like that. There's no way a BLUE diode is going at that price.
