I'm not really counting on it, this bozo is probably just stringing me along with "I shipped it but there is no tracking number" and "it'll take a month to get there" crap hoping I'll forget about it or let the dispute deadline pass.

@ Pontiacg5.... just make sure you don't miss the the deadline to open a case... and don't change the feedback until you get the lasers. fool you once, shame on him.. fool you twice, shame on you :na:

if you don't get them by the deadline, file a case anyway and you should have enough evidence to get your $ back... (ie: previous "stories" told by him, the listing ERROR, or best yet, NO TRACKING NUMBER)

and if the lasers show up later..... WOOHOO FREE LASER~ (make sure you send one to TJ for being our "collection agent" on him :pop:

Open a case with eBay first, then send him a message that you are going to raise it to a claim unless you get tracking info.

You're right, he will say he sent it, and by the time its suppose to arrive, it will be to late. You cant do a PP dispute because he did offer a refund. The only way to get him is through ebay. You have a binding contract.

It was an honest mistake, wasn't it? Is all this really necessary to save a few bucks?

Sure. eBay shoves it up your arss that bidding is binding ect. Why should we let it slide when they screw up?

I don't think it was honest although it might have been at first. He made it worse by lying and making up about 6 different excuses. If it was a mistake he should have pulled the listing right away, but he waited till it was over. He is marking stuff as shipped when it isn't and making crap up, I wouldn't call that an honest mistake anymore.

I certainly have considered just letting it slide. We have all made mistakes too, some costly.
Just aggravated me quite a bit when he claimed "a hacker did it! I'm a victim!". Just mentioning a hacker scares some people. Plus the hope is that buyers will recall having a virus or malware & identify or feel sorry for them. Its like pointing at an almost magical & invisible evil fiend that everyone should be scared of & few people quite understand, if at all.

Some people who I've told that I've done network security to actually got a scared look when they got the association with hacking. Like I could bite their head off (with magic!). Hell, when asked they admit it made them nervous. And I try to make it not sound like scary black magic.

Most "hackers" are either script kiddies or general criminals who purchase attack kits or use of a botnet. Often they don't have a clue how or why it works. Of course everyone uses tools they didn't write themselves. Although those with actual skill or intelligence usually go into security once they grow up.

There is ALWAYS a note in an EekBay listing stating the the seller is solely responsible for the listing-- I got my 'so sorry' note today asking ME to cancell my paid for order of 8 units--if I do I cannot leave a feedback-- if I don't I chance not getting anything back--no win situation IMO. I think I will make a counter-offer of 2.95$ each and a much reduced combined shipping cost or a nasty Neg feedback will rightly come their way from me-- the second free shipping listing was not removed until several days after Motel 'discovered' the error on the earlier one--sucks either way you look at it!!!

I just bought one, so that's why I'm busting their balls. You can still open a claim. Worst thing that could happen is you will get your money back. I'm opening a claim today.
