Me again 😔 As you can see by the picture the beam is horribly off centre.. Is there a relatively easy way I can fix it without destroying it as I'm so new to the laser world. Have the tools and the balls... Just need the advice 👍🏻 thanks again lads

Could be pressed into module crooked, but it's not gonna be worth tearing into it to try and straighten it you really are taking a chance at destroying the driver, diode and host when tearing it down.

It's one of those unfortunate things really. It's a small flaw which doesn't impact performance, and you'd risk ruining the laser trying to fix it. Maybe sent Podo a picture of the problem and see if you can get a partial discount or something.

I agree, it probably won't affect the performance as long as it isn't so crooked that the beam clips the lens or focus adapter.
That being said this is a rather severe case, and assuming that this laser is new, I'd definitely contact Podo for a fix or replacement; I'd hate to pay for a new laser and have my beam that crooked. :(

Wow, that's terrible. It's not even just a little bit off center either it's almost instantly noticeable by the beam straight out of the aperture. I'd unscrew what you can (focus adapter etc) and get a flashlight to see if you can see where the problem is, but don't touch anything yet until you can get a hold of Podo and tell him what's going on. It's a bit disappointing that such a largely growing laser company doesn't test the unit before it's sent across the globe.

EP, I was just going to edit my post to say something similar. A quick push of the switch, and then when the beam goes around the the corner, you got to think "Houston, we have a problem", or at least Beijing, we have a problem.

I'd think that such a defect most likely arose during shipping. It probably got dropped or bumped and something shifted within the unit. I don't think they'd knowingly ship something with that problem. It's bad for business and the customer is likely to complain.

I actually have a Laserglow platinum coated Luna series with the same issue. IDK why laserglow would send something out with a crooked beam. Especially when it's one of their premier <5mw green pointers meant for a high class clientele.

When I got it there was 2 big scratches on it also!! I think you're right with the whole shipping thing. I have four Sanwu lasers and have had problems with 3 of them!! Not a great track record for them eh? But... I love the quality of the hosts so will return custom ya know.

Like the others said, it most likely wasn't Sanwu's fault, and probably was a shipping problem. Yes, it was just as well you asked first :) See what Sanwu can do for you.

Francis from sanwu said he'd take the challenger back and sort the alignment issue out. He also said he'd take the silver series tri beam aswell but I already fixed that problem.
Have 4 sanwu lasers and have had 3 problem with them.. Not a great track record 🤔

It is good that Sanwu are going to sort the problem, but I hope this isn't a sign of quality slipping in the company. We big up Sanwu due to their known quality of work.

Thank you :), no I didn't shoot this image. I would love to do something like this for real. It was someones photograph of a laser event in Preston, UK.
