Hey

Just bumped in to a cool gadget:

Prismatic-Magic-Laser-3D-The-First-3-D-laser-projection-system.jpg

"Prismatic Magic introduces the Laser-3D, the world’s first laser projection system"

[...]

"It works by generating left and right duplicate images that are slightly offset from one another. Each image is projected by its own dedicated red, green, and blue (RGB) laser subsystem. The laser wavelengths of each subsystem are tuned 10-30 nanometers from one another in order to match the optical transmission of Infitec’s reusable 3-D glasses."

Hardware: Multiple solid state lasers
Brightness: 1.6W of total output power, with white balance
Wavelengths: Blue 440 - 475 nm, Green 525 - 545 nm, Red 635 - 670 nm
Divergence: 1 mrad

Sounds cool :) Wonder what they cost.

Probably more than your average car.

High power lasers at unusual wavelengths like 440 and 475nm are extremely expensive.

Now imagine that you have two sets of those for one projector.

But very cool either way.

Dang that would be cool. I wonder the quality of images they can make. Maybe someday things like this will be common place and cheap.

LOL ..... sorry .....

Reading the title, i imagined that someone made a real 3D projector .....

Ah, well, not for another bit of time, i suppose :D

Sorry to be picky, but you make it seem as if they're claiming the first laser projector ever, when they say that it really says "Prismatic Magic introduces the Laser-3D, the world’s first laser projection system, which “combines the vibrant, scintillating colors of traditional laser-light shows with full-color, stereoscopic 3-D technology."
Sorry again, but didn't want anyone thinking that the company was snooty. :p
