Default Is 375nm light the same as 405nm?

I have a black light flashlight that's ranged 375-380nm and it looks like the same purple light that my old violet laser pointer had. Like 100% same color and everything.

Side note, is it safe to shine blacklight on your skin? It's 15Watts in power. It is 375nm wavelength and it has some kinda warning on the front like solar flare or something, not sure what that's about. No words...just a picture with a caution underneath.

Default Re: Is 375nm light the same as 405nm?

Most blacklights emit a wide range of wavelengths above the intended UV wavelength. The only ones you can see happen to be around 405nm, so that's why it looks the se color, but there's presumably a lot more power in deeper UV that you can't see.

However, if you were sold UV LEDs, you may very well have been ripped off and given 405nm if it's exceptionally bright with 405nm light.

Definitely not good for skin and eye exposure, but it's not going to be too hazardous unless you leave it on your skin or look directly at it for a long time.
