290-300nm or 850-9000nm laser?

Hello,
I was hoping someone could help me finding a laser with the wavelength between 290-300nm or 850-900nm, at a reasonable price. I need the laser for building a area sensor.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are many choices, but some are extremly expensive, cheapest that come to my mind are:

320nm from a TEA laser, (and thats 20nm over, lower and you better have deep pockets)

for 808nm-900nm, there is quite a bunch of cheap IR diodes floating around.

There are tons more, but it will depend on your budget.
For the area sensor, I don't see why you need ultra-violet, usually thats done with reds or IR iirc.

GBD, quit hoarding all the 300 nm lasers. We know you have them coming out of your ears! :p

But yeah, I never heard of anything other than red or IR for area sensors in my life.

And for some reason this question reminded me of the laser chamber scene in Resident Evil, even though that wasn't an area sensor lol.

well, for a hobbyist that is quite expensive, I can see a large research company, univercity or even companies like crapio dropping a million on those like pocket change for samples to use in thier products, so yes RHD, its relative to yourself.

If you don't want it, don't get it, simple concept isn't it?

I have found this 830nm 1000mW from DinoDirect, but from what i know, most semiprofessional products at 830nm aren't quite good and they give out a little bit of red light, sign that it's going somewhere towards 650-700nm.
I need one that is completley invisible to the human eye...
THANKS!

With extremely bright infrared beam, this infrared laser pointer is most suitable for pointing objects from long distance.

Seriously? That's dino directs freaking explanation of the laser. Also,

It is widely used in astronomy, classrooms, lecture halls and outdoor travel. Because of its delicate feature and sturdy construction, millions of people who are fond of laser pointers are fascinated with it. You will absolutely love this ultra safe but low power consuming infrared beam laser.
Seriously. Dino direct throwing out these descriptions is going to burn out peoples eyes, they need to be sued for that kind of crap.

They don't give out red. I can assure you.

LEDs have a wide enough spectrum that a 850nm die MIGHT give out minute traces of red, but this is not the case with lasers. The biggest aspect you need to be aware of is that near-IR is NOT invisible. It's just very dim.

980nm should be closer to what you want.
