Is 200mW laser for $20 a fake?

Hello laser friends, I am really new to laser pointer world and I am trying to get a good violet laser that can burn, and is really bright, but doesn't cost too much.
I found this laser that looks promising but I am afraid to get scammed or get a laser that doesn't burn if it is not really 200mW.

Here is the link: Lazerpoint

Do you guys think I should trust this site? It comes from China which makes me a little nervous... Plus it gets mixed reviews but mostly they are good.
If it should be an untrusted site then what is the BEST violet/blue laser I can get for under $30?

Thank you! :)

Yeah I know, I just want it to be powerful enough to burn and do cool things, and for sure the 200mW can do that, what I want to know is can I trust that site?

On the bottom of this site ther's a searchbar, type in lazerpoint, and see what people say about them, never bought from them personally, but i think they dont belong to what people here call trusted.

Edit:
I almost forgot, you do know you need goggles for everything with that high of an output, right?

Thanks, I do know I need the goggles, but is looking at the dot or beam hurts your eyes? Or are the goggles just for extra safety?

I posted a link to sites which are trustworthy around here, also listen to Robert's advice. You are going to need goggles before even buying a laser since that's enough to cause massive eye damage.

Edit: Looking at the dot itself shouldn't hurt your eyes, goggles aren't something you should rely on, they are just there as a line of defense in case an accident does happen! Even with goggles on, don't have fun shinning it around your eyes :)

Im actually not sure about "looking at the dot". I have heard and read that looking at the dot can be bad, if you are to close and of course, if you are shining your laser at something that isnt diffuse enough and causes reflections, or causes specular reflections as it melts.

In other words, better dont risk blinding yourself.

But i can safely say looking at the beam is never a problem, no matter how much power the laser puts out.

Diffuse surfaces like walls are perfectly safe, especially with below Class IV lasers (heck, and even Class IV lasers).

Specular reflections do pose a problem and a danger, but they're easy enough to recognize and avoid - avoid metallic surfaces, shiny paint, laquered wood, etc.

Anyhow back to the opening questions, 405nm lasers cannot ever really be bright, even very high powered ones like 500mW are very dim and will be outshined even by 50mW greenies.

In any event, scope out what do these stores offer that might be of interest to you:

Welcome to O-like,the source of good quality laser products at unbeatable price and perfect service !

Take note, China is currently having it's New Year holidays so shipping could be slow, or store slow to respond for a week or so.

405nm is on the low end of the spectrum that the human eye can see. It may not look bright, for your brain does not perceive it as bright. Making it more dangerous. Your pupil stays more dialated.
I recommend survival laser eagles for eyeware they are a great beginer lens for the price. If I shine my 445nm at anything closer than 25feet it hurts my eyes. so this is where laser saftey comes in.
Blord/scifi lasers/ and a lot of members here build good quality lasers. Cheap laser will only anger you in time. Do it once... do it right... I don't care if were talking cars/ladies/lasers... hehe!

Wow is it really 100mW? Can it burn without the "special" focusing? I think it should be able to light a match without focusing if its really 100mW...

I have a 900mw 405nm laser pointer and I consider it the most dangerous laser I own. This is due to the appearance of being low power to the eye when it burns quicker than some of my higher power lasers. I have one word for 405nm when it is in the hundreds of mw output range: Nasty. Although they might appear 1 percent as bright as 532nm, milliwatt for milliwatt, they do have a beautiful beam in the night sky, but very faint.

Yeah I guess its true, I just want it to be brighter than the cheap 5 dollar pen style violet laser. I really like the blue/violet lasers, they really stand out from the more mainstream green and red ones in my opinion. :)

if u want a decent violet cheap but good quality then u can buy a 100mW from laserbtb like i have, its not that bright at all but in darkness and if there is fog outside the beam is visible and it can burn some if focused proberly, it cost 41$ i think thats cheap for what u get.
